Loraine's Star/Charity Project

 

 

 

Almost everyone on the randyfans list realizes that May 18, 2000 means a lot to all of us.  It marks the 2nd year after someone who was very special to all of us, passed away.  Her name was Loraine Wingham and she was the person who CREATED the randyfans list and she was our listmom for almost a year.  Her family has wished the details of her passing be kept private and to this day, that has remained.  So before I continue, I would just like to say that we will KEEP respecting the families wishes and not discuss how Loraine died, as that is not what is important.  What is important is that we are now missing someone who was very special in our lives and this project was dedicated to her.

Information on the Project:

We have collected a total of $145.00 for this project. All donations collected from this project were used to purchase a STAR (in the sky) in Loraine's name.  The cost of this was $100.00.  We received a wonderfully framed document with Loraine's name on it, the coordinates of where the Star is and other documents, which will be sent on to the family.  The remainder of the money was donated between the two charities that were Loraine's two favorite charities, the SPCA, for her love of animals and the Lung Association, since her and some members of her family had or do have asthma. I will be adding the two Charity Confirmations to the website in the near future.

**IMPORTANT NOTE:  I would also like some of our "older" members who knew Loraine, to please send me a paragraph or two on Loraine and I will also include that on this page.  I would like all our new members to get to know Loraine thru all of us, so please email me your paragraph or two that you would like me to place on here for others to read about Loraine.
